Thank you for reading our manifesto. My name is Jim Gavin and I'm the publisher of Tiger Van Books.  Our publishing house was born from the ashes of Lodge 49, a television program that I had the insane good fortune to create.  The story, set in Long Beach, concerned the mysteries of alchemy and the importance of maintaining hope and community in the face of catastrophe.  Plus it had a character named El Confidente, a soothsayer who drove a van with a unicorn tiger painted on the side.  Believe it or not, we got cancelled after two seasons. However, I was able to liberate the Tiger Van from production and it will now carry us forward as a symbol of mystery and adventure and poor financial planning. It will also serve as an actual vehicle that can be driven around town once I get the engine rebuilt. Now, in partnership with our friends at Turner Publishing, we're excited to put good things in the world.

Breakdown, his classic novel about the illegal drag racing scene in late sixties Los Angeles! Where possible I encourage you to pre-order our books from your local bookstore. Here in Los Angeles you can order through Skylight, Vroman’s, Book Soup, and Village Well. You can order both through Bookshop.org and Amazon. You can get updates by following us on the popular social media website, Twitter

In addition to quality lit masterpieces like Shaky Town, Tiger Van Books also hopes to publish various eccentric projects inspired by the world of Lodge 49.  Our team of powerful lawyers are working hard to secure rights to the latest thriller by L. Marvin Metz, who recently disappeared in Mexico.

Stay tuned.
